Angkasa Pura II Anticipates A Number Of Passenger Surges At The 2024 Eid Homecoming Moment

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II as the main manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal, Tangerang, Banten, has taken a number of steps to anticipate a surge in passengers (homecomers) from various regions using flight services during the Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/2024 AD homecoming season. Soekarno-Hatta Airport KCU Executive General Manager, Dwi Ananda Wicaksana said that a number of these steps and preparations were carried out in anticipation of a surge from the two million passengers who would crowd Indonesia's largest airport. "In facing the 2024 Eid transportation, we carry out various series of preparations because the projected movement of passengers will increase," said Dwi in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 25. According to him, since a few weeks ago his party has prepared human facilities and resources (HR) to provide services to prospective passengers at Soetta Airport. "So in the last few days it is our opportunity to make preparations, while the movement of passengers is still at normal numbers," he said. In addition, several airport operations and facilities were tested, such as ramp checks, to testing outage tests. This is done, to ensure that services for passengers remain safe and comfortable during the implementation of the Lebaran homecoming period. "To test the readiness of the facilities we have, the series we carry out is like a ramp check to ensure air side security and test outages," he said. For the peak of the Lebaran homecoming flow at Soetta Airport, it is predicted that it will occur on Friday, April 5, 2024.

The period of Eid transportation will occur for 10 to 11 days from April 3 to 13, with the peak of the homecoming flow occurring from Friday to Saturday next week or April 5 to 6, 2024. The number of passenger movements during that period is projected to reach 188,700 people with 1,200 flights in one day. Meanwhile, the number of passenger movements at the peak of backflow that occurred on D+4 of Eid Al-Fitr 2024 will continue to increase to 190 thousand people. Then for backflow, it is estimated that it will occur on D+4 Lebaran 2024, which is approximately 190,000 passengers with 1,117 flights.
