Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian said the construction of the Kapuas I Bridge Duplication was carried out in order to unravel congestion on the Pontianak city road network.
"Alhamdulillah, after President Jokowi inaugurated, the bridge is ready to operate. We will hand over the traffic arrangements to the local Transportation Service," Hedy said in a written statement, quoted on Friday, March 22.
The Ministry of PUPR will then also handle several matters related to the operation of the Kapuas I Bridge Duplication.
