OIKN Regarding BCA Still Not Groundbreaking At IKN: The Land Wants To Be Taken By Other Parties

JAKARTA - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk or BCA (BBCA) has not yet laid the first stone or groundbreaking of its office in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) to date.

In fact, major banks such as BCA, namely Bank Mandiri to BRI, have started the construction of their office building at IKN on February 29.

Responding to this, Deputy for Funding and Investment of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Agung Wicaksono said that the land, which is planned for the construction of the BCA office, now wants to be taken by other parties.

"What is clear is that yesterday's land (for BCA) was already willing, it was already taken by another," Agung told VOI when met at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, Thursday, March 14.

Agung assessed that currently BCA must be patient again if it wants to groundbreaking its office in the new capital city.

He added that his party would immediately find the appropriate land for the needs of BCA's groundbreaking.

"So, BCA we are looking for more (the length), he has to be patient again. There is still a lot of land, but I'm looking for more (later) what is appropriate," he added.

Even so, Agung did not want to provide information on exactly when the private bank would conduct a groundbreaking at IKN.

As previously reported, the Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) has opened its voice regarding PT Bank Central Asia Tbk or BCA (BBCA) which has not yet been groundbreaking at IKN until now.

OIKN Deputy for Funding and Investment Agung Wicaksono said his party had met with representatives from Bank BCA some time ago.

However, he admitted, BCA is still considering the location of the construction.

"Yes, the name is selling the location and the land must be suitable. Yesterday my director met the director of BCA, but the location did not match," said Agung.

According to Agung, BCA's interest in building an office at IKN has entered. However, BCA is still looking for a suitable location.

"It's just a location that doesn't fit, but the interest (investing) is already running. What's called buying land for sure, right, you have to get the right one," he said.

For your information, in the OIKN presentation document in December 2023, the groundbreaking phase 4 at IKN will initially be attended by 15 investors, including PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA).

However, until now, BBCA has not realized project development at IKN.
