SKK Migas Explains KKKS Oil Producers Experiencing Reducing And Increasing Production

JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) revealed a number of Cooperation Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) for oil producers who experienced decreases and increased production from year to year.

Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto said that throughout 2023 his party noted that oil production did not reach the set target. The lifting target set in the 2023 State Budget is 660,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) while the realization of oil production in 2023 is 605,723 barrels per day (bpd).

The realization of this lifting is much lower than the realization of production in the previous year of 612,418 BOPD.

In a meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Dwi revealed that the largest oil producer was still achieved by Pertamina Hulu Rokan with the achievement of 161,623 BOPD or an increase from 2022 which was recorded at 159,202 BOPD.

The second position is held by ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd. (EMCL) with oil production of 155,444 or down from the previous 165,891.

"Mostly (production decline) is the largest compared to Cepu (EMCL) with 10,000. The difference is around 7 but Cepu minus 10," Dwi said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII quoted on Thursday, March 14.

The 10 contractors for the cooperation contract (KKKS) with the largest oil production in 2023 are as follows:
