Member Of Commission VII Proposes SKK Migas Revision Of Oil Barel 1 Million Lifting Target In 2030

Member of Commission VII DPR RI from the Gerindra Party faction, Ramson Siagian, proposed the government and the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) to revise the Indonesian oil lifting target which was set at 1 million barrels per day.

"Earlier, during the informal meeting, I also conveyed that the 2030 target of 1 million barrels I proposed that it be changed. So don't make the lifting target reach 1 million barrels in 2030," said Ramson in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Wednesday, March 13.

Ramson said the target set by the government should be more realistic. He likened this target to a presidential election survey that tends to have a small margin overall, while the survey of council members has a much larger margin overall.

"Don't imitate it. So we have to make accurate predictions. It's been 2024, 2030, only 5 years left," Ramson continued.

Ramson highlighted the target for lifting 2023 in the APBN which was set at 660 thousand BOPD while the realization was only 605.5 thousand BOPD which was deemed inconsistent with the target set at 1 million barrels.

As the party who knows more about the upstream state of oil and gas, Ramson continued, SKK Migas is considered to be able to predict oil lifting that will be achieved by Indonesia by 2030.

"It must be re-evaluated, that 2030 targets are 800,000 bopd. or 859,000 BOPDs. Realistic ones. Don't continue to be brought to wish because cost recovery has only decreased from 8.25 billion US dollars to 7.67 billion US dollars. State revenues have also decreased. including reduced investment," concluded Ramson.
