The Form Of A Special Division Is The Way For Indonesia Re To Improve Business Performance

JAKARTA - PT Resurance Indonesia Utama (Indonesia Re) is improving the company's business performance through the establishment of a special division for technological and system transformation.

The more rapid the development of technology and the high value of technology investment, an effective information technology (IT) is needed.

"We want to carry out this transformation even more seriously, even booster, stronger and bigger. Therefore, this division will be filled by people who can encourage the acceleration and strengthening of technology and systems," said Indonesian President Director Re Benny Waworuntu quoting Antara.

Therefore, Indonesia Re held IT Days. This activity is a session of various knowledge about awareness of cyber attacks that have recently become increasingly rampant.

IT Days is held as a means of discussion within the Indonesia Re Group to make adjustments to integrated IT masterplan so that IT's strategic planning can be in harmony in supporting business processes and initiative strategies.

Raising the theme IT Days: Sustainable Development Through Digitalization Transformation', the activity, which was attended by the Board of Directors and Indonesian Re Group Officials, was intended to unite the views and visions that the company would achieve through digitalization in the future.

It is hoped that in the future new ideas, innovations, and strategies will emerge that can be translated into technology and digitization systems in the Indonesia Re Group.

On the same occasion, Director of Indonesian Information Development and Technology Re Beatrix Santi Anugrah said, the acceleration of the digitalization transformation of the insurance industry is one of the pillars in the Roadmap published by the OJK.

This pillar is the basis for Indonesia Re innovating digitalization and strategy.

"The role of digitalization and strategy innovation must be carried out in 2024 to encourage better productivity and business performance," said Beatrix.

Deputy for Cyber Security & Cyber Economy of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency Slamet Aji Pamungkas revealed that humans are the weakest chain in cyber security systems.

Therefore, he reminded that cybersecurity supervision in companies can be carried out thoroughly down to the lowest level.

One way hackers enter cyber systems is through the weakest link we have, most of them are in humans themselves. He will look for loopholes where the humans are negligent, "said Slamet.

According to him, the advancement of information technology does not escape cyber security issues.

"In addition, the enactment of Law No. 27 of 2022 concerning Protection of Personal Data must also be a concern of the company in maintaining cybersecurity so that there is no data leakage that can be subject to criminal penalties," he concluded.
