Regarding Joining InJourney, Garuda Boss: God Willing, October

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra said his party was ready to join the Aviation and Tourism BUMN Holding ecosystem (InJourney).

However, Irfan said, before entering the InJourney ecosystem, his party would pursue improvements to the company's finances.

The reason is, currently Garuda's finances are not good.

"It's still minus equity. It must beplus-in first, that's why in October (the target of joining), we have to be plus-in first. Ready or not? Yes, we have to do it. But God willing," he said when met at the Ministry of Transportation, Jakarta, Thursday, March 7.

Irfan admitted that he had several strategies to pursue the improvement of company finances. One of them is by accounting treatment.

"We are a lot of innovative people at Garuda. So basically there are two things, one of which is normal, profit, reducing this. Second is accounting treatment. When it's time for us to convey it," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir targeted PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or Garuda to join PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJorney before next October.

Erick said that the plan to include Garuda in the InJourney ecosystem is still being discussed.

Later, if this plan is realized, Garuda will become a subsidiary of InJourney.

The plan to merge Garuda to InJourney is in line with the company's improving finances after the restructuring or restructuring stage is carried out.

"We are still proposing Garuda to enter the InJourney ecosystem. Garuda and Citilink only. If possible before October (entering InJourney)," he told reporters, written Tuesday, February 27.
