JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) will provide discounted toll rates on a number of toll roads that they manage ahead of the 2024 Eid holiday.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said that currently his party is still waiting for policies and directions from the government to implement the toll tariff discount.

"Currently, Hutama Karya is still waiting for the policy and we support the government's direction as the regulator in implementing the policies implemented," said Tjahjo to VOI, Thursday, March 7.

Tjahjo said that his party would definitely provide discounts on toll rates such as the Lebaran holiday in 2023.

"There has been (a plan to provide tariff discounts), the previous year it was also carried out, yes," he said.

When asked further about how much discount the tariff will be and when it will take effect, Tjahjo said that his party was still reviewing everything. "Still in the study," he added.

The schedule for holidays and leave with Lebaran 2024 has been agreed upon by the government. The agreement is contained in the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Number 855 of 2023, Number 3 of 2023, Number 4 of 2023 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave in 2024.

Through its official announcement, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said, the government set a national holiday and collective leave in 2024 totaling 27 days. In detail, the national holiday is 17 days and is on collective leave for 10 days.

Especially for the Eid al-Fitr 2024 holiday, the total holiday has 6 days consisting of 2 national holidays for Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah and 4 days is a joint leave of Eid al-Fitr.

Meanwhile, Korlantas Polri predicts an increase in the number of travelers by 6 percent during Lebaran 2024 when compared to the previous year. The number reached 136.7 million people.

"Last year there were more than 123 million Indonesians who went back and forth and traveled during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, plus 5 percent, 6 percent of which were at 136 million," said the Head of Traffic Police, Inspector General Aan Suhanan.

Thus, the implementation of tariff discounts on toll roads that are predicted to be passed by travelers is very necessary, so that the smooth flow of homecoming during the Lebaran 2024 holiday can be realized.
