PT PLN (Persero) is ready to implement the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 2 of 2024 concerning Roof Solar Power Plants (PLTS) Connected to the Electricity Network for Electric Power Supply Business Permits for Public Interest (IUPTLU).
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that PLN is ready to support the Government in carrying out the energy transition to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2060, one of which is through the Rooftop PLTS.
"We welcome the joy and readiness to implement the policies that have been decided by the Government. This is our effort to encourage community involvement in the energy transition in Indonesia," Darmawan said in a statement to the media, Tuesday, March 5.
Meanwhile, PLN's Retail and Commerce Director Edi Srimulyanti said PLN always supports the growth of roof PLTS in Indonesia. This is evidenced by the number of roof PLTS which continues to increase every year.
"We continue to support community involvement in the energy transition, one of which is through this roof PLTS. Even in 2023, before the revision of this Permen, its capacity has almost doubled," said Edi.
In 2022, the capacity of the roof PLTS in Indonesia is recorded at 80 Megawatt peak (MWp), increasing to 141 MWp in 2023. This achievement shows PLN's commitment as well as public interest and the industrial sector to play a role in increasing EBT in Indonesia.
Edi added that with the issuance of this new regulation, PLN immediately made technical preparations to carry out the policy.
"We are moving quickly to ensure technical readiness so that this Rooftop PLTS Candy can be implemented immediately," said Edi.
Currently, PLN is also finalizing a review of the roof PLTS development quota for each regional cluster taking into account the direction of the national energy policy, plans and realization of the Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), as well as the reliability of the electricity system. From this proposal, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will set a quota that will be opened to the public.

To apply for the On Grid Roof PLTS to the PLN system, it can be submitted through the PLN Mobile Application. This is done to facilitate the application for a roof PLTS construction permit.
After the community submits an application, PLN will proceed to the licensing approval process. The licensing answer to the customer will be submitted a maximum of 30 calendar days via email registered on the PLN Mobile application or a registration of the Roof Web PLTS Application.
