Tighten Recipients Of Electricity Subsidies, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Issues New Rules

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) issued the latest regulations regarding electricity subsidies as stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 3 of 2024 concerning the Provision of Electricity Tariff Subsidies for Consumers of PT PLN (Persero).

In Article 2 of this regulation, it is stated that the subsidy for household electricity tariffs is given through electricity tariffs.

Then the recipient of the electricity tariff subsidy incorporates consumers of the tariff category for small household needs at low voltage with a power criteria of 450 VA (R1/TR) or 900 VA (R1/TR) power based on data on consumer data matching with basic data.

Then in article 3 it is stated that the matching is carried out by PT PLN (Persero) by comparing data between consumer data and basic data.

"The data acquisition as referred to in Article 3 through, the service system is connecting / web service or directly / on desk. Meanwhile, data matching is carried out every 3 months in January, April, July, and October," reads Articles 4 and 5.

Then Article 5 paragraph 2 states that in the case that consumers in the tariff category for small household needs at low voltage with a power of 900 volt-ampere (R-l/TR) is not found in the data matching results as referred to in Article 2 Paragraph 2 letter b, consumers are not given electricity tariff subsidies the following month.

Article 5 Paragraph 3 states, in the case that consumers in the tariff class for small household needs at low voltage with a Power 900 volt-ampere-RTM (R-l/TR) is contained in the basic data matching as referred to in Article 2 Paragraph 2 letter b, consumers are given electricity tariff subsidies the following month. Then, (b) PLN adjusts electricity tariffs to tariffs for consumer electricity class tariffs for small household needs at low voltage with 900 volt-ampere power (R-l/TR).

Then related to the Power Reduction, Article 8 paragraph 1 states that household consumers with power capacity above 900 VA contained in the Basic Data can receive electricity tariff subsidies after a decrease in power to become a tariff class for household needs at low voltage with a power of 900 VA (R-1/TR).

In paragraph 2, it is explained that poor and underprivileged Houses that occupy consumer households with a power capacity above 900 VA are entitled to receive electricity tariff subsidies after a decrease in power to become a tariff group for small household needs at low voltage with a power of 900 VA (R-1)/TR).
