Danamon And Sunyi Academy Give Barista Competency Certificates To 40 Disabled Kawans

JAKARTA - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) through D-Bank PRO #SelaluMegoda together with Danamon Peduli's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program has completed the CSR Sharing in Sungyi program as a result of a collaboration with Sunyi Coffee and Sunyi Academy which will be held from October 2023 to February 2024.

Aiming to build the independence of friends with disabilities in order to be able to meet a better future, this program consists of several elements, namely donations, financial training and skills, as well as certified internships.

The closing and awarding ceremony for the certificate after attending the workshop and internship program was attended by 40 friends with disabilities, who were successfully selected from more than 300 registrants.

For four months, the participants participated in a series of trainings run by the Sunyi Academy, a foundation engaged in the development of the culinary industry for friends with disabilities, focusing on three sustainable topics, namely the Introduction to Becoming a Barista; Financial Literacy; and the Introduction to Coffee.

As a CSR program, Sharing in Sunyi begins with a donation program that runs from October to November 2023, where at several Danamon branches such as Pondok Indah Mall 2, Kelapa Gading 1, Matraman, Usman Harun, and Kebon Jeruk Intercon, customers can buy and enjoy coffee from the Sunyi Coffee booth for Rp1 (one Rupiah) using the QRIS D-Bank Pro. Through this purchase, customers automatically donate Rp30,000 (three thousand Rupiah) to friends with disabilities in need.

During the donation period, Danamon and Sunyi Coffee managed to sell more than 3,000 glasses, and the proceeds from the sale have been donated to the Sunyi Academy to support the smoothness and success of workshops for disabled friends.

Meanwhile, the Barista and Mangang Class Training sessions for friends with disabilities took place from October 2023 to February 2024 in three places, namely Kelapa Gading 1, Jeruk Intercon Gardens, and Bekasi Juanda. The last or fourth batch was held on February 26, 2024 at the Danamon Bank Tower just before the closing ceremony was held.

By participating in the Managing Program with Kopi Sunyi, it is hoped that the participants can directly implement the various materials that have been studied during the workshop. After undergoing the internship program, the participants get a job-worthy certificate which is expected to help friends with disabilities get a decent job in the future.

Meanwhile, with Danamon's support, the financial literacy training activities provided to the participants include financial planning, financial management, financial products, and being wise in financial use. The provision of financial literacy materials is expected to be useful and provision for friends with disabilities in building a better and financially independent future.

I hope that in the future, more and more programs like this, so that the opportunity for empowerment of other disabled friends is the same as what we get here," added Daniel Darma Putra, one of the participants in the program Sharing in Sunyi.

Representatives from Sunyi Coffee welcomed the cooperation that had been carried out with Danamon and hoped that similar activities to help friends with disabilities gain a better future could continue.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity so that fellow participants have talents as Barista as it is now. I am also happy because they have received training on finance, so that they can be more alert to online loan traps and various online scams that target many friends with disabilities. They can also now save money smartly and wisely.
