JAKARTA - In order to meet consumer energy needs in Java, Bali, and its surroundings PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN), as the affiliate of Pertamina Gas Subholding PT PGN Tbk, will increase the availability of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

For this reason, Pertagas signed a memorandum of understanding in collaboration with PT Likuid Nusantara Gas, which was carried out by the President Director of PTGN Aminuddin and the President Director of Likuid Nusantara Gas Wira Rahardja.

Aminuddin said that cooperation not only answers LNG needs for consumers in Java, Bali, and its surroundings, but also has the potential to expand the market.

"Through this collaboration, PTGN is not only trying to maintain the reliability of services for LNG existing consumers in Java and Bali. In the future, the LNG Java and Bali markets have the potential to be wider considering that there is already an LNG plant on the island of Java," he said in his statement in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 17.

According to him, cooperation allows to be developed to various other forms that will support business and provide added value to both parties.

Aminuddin added that in 2024 and furthermore, PTGN will be more aggressive in expanding the natural gas market, both LNG and CNG in Java and Bali, so that companies can continue to contribute during the energy transition period to achieve Indonesia's zero-carbon emission (NZE) target by 2060.

PTGN has been operating in the LNG business since 2017 with a total distribution volume of 9,674,200 British thermal units (BTU) and serving consumers such as the fertilizer industry, hotels, restaurants, and cafes, the fabrication industry, waste treatment, mining products processing, hospitals, and the provision of LNG as fuel for fuel for diesel fuel (DDF) oil and gas companies.

PTGN also manages more than 23 LNG portfolios spread across Java, Bali, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and Kalimantan.
