Pegadaian Earns IDR 4.38 Trillion Profit Throughout 2023

JAKARTA - PT Pegadaian (Persero) recorded a net profit of IDR 4.38 trillion. This achievement grew 32.7 percent compared to 2022 of IDR 3.30 trillion. This positive performance is supported by the highest Outstanding Loan (OSL) increase in the last 3 years produced by Pegadaian, which is 14.4 percent from IDR 59.1 trillion in 2022 to IDR 67.6 trillion.

The company's assets also increased by 12.6 percent from IDR 73.33 trillion in 2022 to IDR 82.6 trillion in 2023. Not only that, the quality of Pegadaian financing is also considered to be healthier with a significant decline in NPL from the previous 1.2 percent in 2022 to 0.85 percent in 2023.

Through this achievement, Pegadaian managed to increase Return on Asset (ROA) by 5.6 percent and Return on Equity (ROE) by 14.33 percent and Pegadaian experienced the lowest Operating Revenue Operating Expense Rate (BOPO) in the past few years, which was 66.10 percent in 2023.

"Alhamdulillah, until 2023 the number of customers until December 31, 2023 was recorded to have increased 9.7 percent from 21.9 million people to 24 million people," said the President Director of PT Pegadaian, Damar Latri Setiawan at a press conference, Tuesday, February 6.

Damar added, entering 2024, Pegadaian is committed to always providing the best service for the community and producing the best performance by expanding its wings in developing the gold ecosystem. This is in line with the increasing interest of the public to invest in gold.

"The pawnshop has a variety of gold investment products that can be owned in various ways. It can be through Gold Installments, Gold Arisan, buying jewelry through Gallery 24, or saving gold with Gold Savings products that can be accessed directly through the Digital Pawnshop application. In addition, if in the past people came to Pegadaian to bring gold, now there are Gadai Express and Gadai from Home. Everything we make easy so that people can design the future too easily," added Damar.

Gadai Express is a service launched by Pegadaian to pick up and deliver pawn collateral from home to Pegadaian outlets. Meanwhile, with Gadai from Home, the estimator can directly visit customers and estimate the collateral on the spot. Through these two services, customers can make transactions without having to go to Pegadaian outlets.

Damar further explained that the number of users of the Pegadaian Digital application as of December 31, 2023 was 6.5 million users with a transaction volume of IDR 14.5 trillion, up 72 percent from the previous year.
