Paradise Indonesia Outspoken About Mall Development In The Middle Of The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - PT Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk (INPP) will continue a number of projects in 2024.

The INPP itself in 2024 will focus on developing malls, such as building Mall 23 Semarang in Central Java, extension of Mall 23 Paskal in Bandung, West Java, to Antasari Mall in Jakarta.

Although there are a number of projects that will be carried out this year, INPP itself does not deny that Indonesia will hold a 2024 general election (Pemilu) in February.

So, what is the company's view of project development in the midst of the 2024 General Election?

Director and CFO Paradise Indonesia Surina said that his party is still optimistic that the project will run according to plan.

However, he only reminded the unpredictable global geopolitical conditions.

"In our view, what will this look like in 2024, maybe it is more optimistic and alert. Actually, if you say the growth (economic) of our country is still quite good, yes, it is estimated that it is still 5 percent compared to other Asian countries, we are still quite high," said Surina in Jakarta, Monday, January 29.

"And if you're alert, it might be more geopolitical globally, yes. Because, right, for the global one we can't predict. But, in terms of companies, especially in the property industry, we remain vigilant in terms of maybe inflation, and interest effects," he continued.

Surina assessed that so far the regulations that have been given by the government have been sufficient to help the company in the property industry sector.

"In my opinion, what has been running from 2023-2024 has a lot of support from the government as well as providing regulations that make it easier for the property industry. One of them is free VAT, then from banks also provides extraordinary support which can provide light down payment. So, people can immediately pay in installments," he said.

Therefore, Surina is optimistic that the target set by the company can be achieved this year.

"Although there is a political year in 2024, we think and hopefully it will be safe. A few years ago we also held elections, yes, and I think this year may be more conducive. So, we are quite optimistic that the property industry in the second and third quarters (2024) will have higher performance," he added.
