Government Continues Distribution Of Rice Social Assistance 10 Kg Until June

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the government would continue to distribute 10 kilograms of rice food aid until June 2024.

"The government has also decided on a food assistance program, where rice food assistance (continued) until June is 10 kilograms," Airlangga told the media crew during the High Level Meeting (HLM) results of the Central Inflation Control Team (TPIP), Monday, January 29, 2024.

The distribution of 10 kilograms of rice food aid has been started since 2023 to 21.5 million Beneficiary Families (KPM). This year, rice food assistance was given to 22 million KPM.

Then the government will also continue the distribution of direct cash assistance for the community to mitigate food risk of IDR 11.25 trillion for 18.8 million Beneficiary Families (KPM).

The assistance will be returned in the first 3 months of 2024 amounting to IDR 200,000 which will be distributed in February.

So that the total assistance that will be given to the community is around Rp. 600,000.

The direct cash assistance replaces El Nino's assistance which was provided in November, December 2023.

"Direct cash assistance for food risk mitigation for 3 months and it will be evaluated for another three months and the first three months will be given around February of 200,000 per month," he explained.

The meeting also agreed on the inflation target in 2025, 2026, and 2027 of 2.5 percent plus minus 1 percent which will later be set through the Minister of Finance Regulation.

"In the future, of course, it is hoped that the inflation target can be achieved according to the target in 2024," Airlangga concluded.
