JAKARTA - The Cooperative and Small and Medium Enterprises Marketing Service Agency (Smesco Indonesia) will invite investors from Singapore to invest in domestic micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

President Director of Smesco Indonesia Leonard Theosabrata said the arrival of these investors is scheduled for mid-2024.

It is known, Leonard had previously met with several investors in 2023. The investor is a venture asset and capital manager with a value of 20 million US dollars to 100 million US dollars.

"The potential value is that we don't talk, yes. But, what is certain is that there are several funds that are being built, some have 100 million US dollars in funds, some are only 20 million US dollars," Leonard said at a press conference in Jakarta, quoted Friday, January 26.

The man who is often called Leo said that the way to convince investors is to make a narrative that Indonesia is a producing country through MSME products. Therefore, he wants to increase production in the green economy and blue economy sector.

According to him, foreign investors see that Indonesia has the potential to become a place of economic growth in Southeast Asia. He also said that several investors were interested in his offer after seeing the success of eFishery, an acultural technology company from Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia.

Thus, Leo is optimistic that foreign investors will look at several domestic companies.

"So he (investors) knows that Indonesia has enormous potential if it is done properly. Indonesian talks as a producer must have investment there. I believe that we are able to produce food and beverage products. This is what we want to encourage so that more food and beverage products from Indonesia are superior," he added.
