MRT Calls Never Found Case Of Alleged Bribery Of US SEC Report Results

JAKARTA - PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta (Persode) has denied involvement in the alleged bribery case with a software company from the European Union based in Germany, SAP.

Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Ahmad Pratomo admitted that no bribery cases were ever found as submitted in the US SEC report document issued by the United States Judiciary Dapertement.

Even so, Ahmad said he would explore the information contained in the currently circulating US SEC documents.

"There has never been a bribery case as mentioned by the SEC. We are still investigating the information in the circulating documents," he told reporters, Thursday, January 18.

Ahmad said his party was ready to support and cooperate with law enforcement if needed.

"PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) supports and is ready to cooperate with law enforcers when necessary legal steps are taken in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," he said.

For your information, SAP is a European Union software company based in Germany. This company markets its software around the world, including Indonesia through Indonesian SAP.

In his case, the United States Justice Dapertement released a US SEC report on the practice of bribery of SAP in South Africa and Indonesia.

Where in the report it is stated that there are two bribes, namely the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), as well as the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) through BP3TI which is now called BAKTI.

The US SEC document became the basis for the United States Justice Dapertement to mention the broader practice of Indonesian SAP bribery. Where it is stated that the representative of this German company bribed the Ministry of Social Affairs, DKI Provincial Government, AP I and AP II, Pertamina to MRT Jakarta.

SAP Indonesia itself was recorded to have received a project of 174,908 US dollars on March 22, 2018. However, the SEC did not mention the names of officials who received bribes and the amount of money given.
