JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal reported that 12 of the 21 mineral and coal mining business permits (WIUP) that were auctioned in 2023 had not yet received the winner.
Director of the Opening of the Mineral and Coal Kemebntarian ESDM Program, Tri Winarno, detailed that of the 9 mining blocks that have been sold, 7 of them have signed the auction winner's decree (SK).
"We are conducting an auction of 21 complete WIUP blocks. There are currently 9, the remaining 12 failed," Tri said, quoted on Wednesday, January 17.
He explained that 12 WIUPs failed to be rushed, they could have received enthusiasts but did not qualify at the prequalification stage so they could not continue the auction process.
Furthermore, for WIUPs that failed in the auction process, Trui ensured that his party would continue to evaluate the offers given.
"But there are also some who do not have interest, it is possible that there are some of these things that we are currently evaluating. We can say that the 9 is almost done, yes, 7 have determined the winning decree," explained Tri.
Furthermore, Tri explained, if the WIUP auction combined the first auction since the stipulation of Law No.4/2009 on Mineral and Coal Mining (UU Minerba) on January 12, 2009.
