Viral Motorcyclists Take Queues At Gas Stations, Pertamina Gives Answer

JAKARTA - A video shows a motorcyclist grabbing a queue for the purchase of fuel oil (BBM) at a Pertamina gas station that is currently viral on social media.

In the video, motorcyclists are known to buy Pertamax fuel.

Responding to this, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting, said that Pertamina had indeed prepared a'red carpet' as a special lane for non-subsidized fuel products.

"When viewed from the video, motorcyclists fill the pump island which is not a red carpet, it can be seen that the dispenser is still parallel between subsidized fuel (Pertalite) and non-subsidized products, namely Pertamax," said Irto when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, January 9.

Irto admitted, if there are consumers who will buy non-subsidized products on the pump island that have not red carpeted, as long as there are no queues of buyers of other non-subsidized products, they will be welcome to fill the pump island.

However, he suggested, in the future consumers can use red carpet facilities that have been provided on the special pump island.

"We suggest that in the future consumers can use red carpet facilities that have been provided on the island of a special non-subsidized pump to avoid incidents like the video," concluded Irto.
