After The Liputan, Reporter Detikcom Becomes A Victim Of Jambret At The Bus Stop In Front Of The DKI Jakarta Governor's Office

JAKARTA - A detikcom reporter was targeted by a robbery victim who occurred at a City Hall bus stop, precisely in front of the DKI Jakarta Governor's Office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

The incident occurred on Thursday night, June 19, after the victim with the initials WSS carried out coverage activities in the JIEXPO Kemayoran area. The victim also reported the incident to the Gambir Metro Police.

In the victim's report, the mugging incident occurred at around 21.50 WIB. At that time, the victim after conducting a coverage activity with a group of journalists from the DKI Jakarta City Hall from Jakarta Fair or Jiexpo Kemayoran using a mini bus.

When he arrived at the DKI Jakarta Governor's office with a group of other journalists, the victim then wanted to return home waiting for transportation at the DKI Jakarta Provincial City Hall bus stop.

The victim sat at the bus stop while using his 12 Lite Xiaomi cellphone to make news coverage.

"Me and other balkot journalists came down from the hiace at the bus stop in front of the city hall. Then the other children came home, the rest of me and my friend who are also journalists. We want to work on it first before returning home (returning home) because the rest is a little more," said the victim. WSS when confirmed, Saturday (21/6/2025).

Suddenly an unknown man came wearing a blue hoodie and a black helmet. The perpetrator rode an automatic motorbike that immediately grabbed or took the victim's cellphone.

"Suddenly, after just a few minutes I took out my cellphone suddenly someone grabbed my cellphone. I immediately realized that my cellphone was snatched, I immediately chased it while shouting thief.. thief," he said.

The perpetrator managed to seize the victim's cellphone for Rp. 5 million and fled leaving the victim. The victim also identified the perpetrator's clothes during a robbery.

"The perpetrator himself, used an automatic motorbike. I saw he was a blue hoodie, a black helmet," he said.

The incident was caught on CCTV surveillance cameras around the scene.

"Unfortunately, even though there is only 1 at the location in front of the city hall, there is only 1 cctv in front of the entrance. At the bus stop there is no CCTV, even though it is a place in front of the governor's office where security should be better than other locations," he said.

The victim also regretted that there was no immediate response from the Pamdal officers and the internal security of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Office who knew about the robbery incident.

"Sad, even though there are guards, Pamdal, security or whatever the name is, no one immediately responds, see I run away even though I have shouted a thief. When I came back, I couldn't catch up with the pickpocket (perpet), while saying that there it was prone to robbery," he said.

Ironically, the action of snatching cellphones at the front stop of the DKI Jakarta City Hall seems to have been known by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's internal security officers.

"It turned out that they also knew that the place was vulnerable, but why didn't CCTV be installed to anticipate things like this," he regretted.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Ruslan, said that the case is still under investigation by the Gambir Metro Police and the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

"The case is still under investigation by the Gambir Metro Police, assisted by the Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit," he briefly told reporters, Saturday, June 21.
