Bulog Ready To Distribute Rice Food Aid Throughout Indonesia

JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnamurthi admitted that he was ready to realize the distribution of food aid rice until June 2024 in accordance with the instructions of President Jokoow Widodo (Jokowi).

Bayu emphasized that Bulog will carry out well government programs that have a positive impact on the welfare of the wider community.

"The implementation of activities starting yesterday and today also marks the distribution of the first Food Aid rice in 2024 and so on throughout Indonesia," said Bayu in an official statement, Wednesday, January 3.

Changes To Help Recipient Data

Meanwhile, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi said that in the 2024 rice food aid there was a change in the aid recipient database.

In 2024, continued Arief, the National Food Agency and Bulog together with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) used data on the Prevention of the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE).

For 2024, there is an increase in the number of Beneficiary Families (KPM) for Rice Food Assistance to 22 million KPM from the previous 21.3 million KPM in 2023.

"This rice food assistance in 2024 marks the start of the use of P3KE data from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. The validity is strong enough that 22 million KPM who are recipients of rice food assistance this year are really a group of people who really need to be helped. We believe this year can be more targeted," explained Arief.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) promised to continue the government's rice reserve food assistance (CBP) program until June 2024, if the state budget condition was sufficient.

This was conveyed by Jokowi during the inaugural distribution of the 2024 Rice Food Assistance idi Cilacap and continued today in Banyumas and Tegal, Central Java.

"The most important thing is that the food aid rice in January is acceptable today, and will continue for February and March. We will see again if the APBN allows it to be added in April, May June," said Jokowi.
