Effective Starting Today, 3 Kg Elpiji Buyers Must Register

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has begun to enforce mandatory listing rules for customers who want to buy 3 kg LPG cylinders.

For 3 kg LPG users who have not been registered or want to check the user's status, they are required to register or check their personal data in the LPG Sub-Distributor / Agent before making the purchase.

"Starting January 1, 2024, every 3 kg LPG user who will buy must be registered in the system first, for people who want to buy but have not been registered, they must register first in agents or sub-distributors," said Tutuka, quoted Monday, January 1.

For this reason, Tutuka appealed to people who have not been registered to register immediately before purchasing 3 kg LPG cylinders.

"The public also doesn't need to worry because the registration process is very easy, fast, and safe. It's enough to show your ID card and family card," said Tutuka.

Tutuka explained that this step was an effort by the Government to realize the transformation of the distribution of 3 kg LPG cylinders on target. This policy aims to make the increasing amount of subsidies fully enjoyed by groups of people unable or on target.

Just so you know, as of December 30, 2023, approximately 28 to 30 million LPG users have registered and transacted using Pertamina's app merchants at the official Distribution/Pangkalan.
