Jasa Marga Records 386,152 Vehicles Returning To Jabotabek At Christmas 2023

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted, as many as 386,152 vehicles returned to the Jabotabek area on Christmas Day 2023 which fell in the period Monday and Tuesday, namely 25 and 26 December 2023.

This total is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four barrier / main toll gates, namely GT Cikupa (from the direction of Merak), GT Ciawi (from the direction of Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (from the direction of Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (from the direction of Bandung).

In its report, Jasa Marga noted that the total volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area increased by 45.01 percent when compared to normal traffic in the same period, namely 266,300 vehicles. Meanwhile, when compared to the 2022 Christmas period, the total traffic volume also increased by 13.54 percent, namely 340,106 vehicles.

For traffic distribution back to Jabotabek from three directions, the majority came from the East, namely Trans Java and Bandung as many as 195,145 vehicles, an increase of up to 50.54 percent.

Then, followed from the West, namely Merak as many as 98,885 vehicles or an increase of 25.61 percent and from the South, namely Puncak as many as 92,122 vehicles or an increase of 23.86 percent.

It is known, traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road reached 95,485 vehicles, an increase of 75.75 percent from normal traffic.

Traffic returning to Jabotabek from Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 99,660 vehicles, an increase of 69.22 percent from normal traffic.

"The total traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs is 195,145 vehicles or an increase of 72.35 percent from normal traffic," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana in a written statement, quoted Thursday, December 28.

Meanwhile, traffic returning to Jabotabek from Merak via the Cikupa GT Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 98,885 vehicles, an increase of 8.12 percent compared to normal traffic.

"Meanwhile, the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek from Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road is 92,122 vehicles or an increase of 49.51 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Jasa Marga appealed to toll road users to anticipate the trip for the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays well.
