Up 18 Percent, AP I Serves 5.7 Million Passengers Throughout November 2023

JAKARTA PT Angkasa Pura I (AP1) recorded serving 5,762,809 passenger movements at 15 airports managed in the November 2023 period. This number experienced growth of 18 percent compared to last year.

AP1 President Director Faik Fahmi said the number of passenger movements in November 2023 was divided into 4,552,681 domestic route passenger movements and 1,210,128 international passenger movements.

Faik also said that the movement of aircraft and cargo movements for the November 2023 period also experienced growth. For aircraft movements, as many as 46,105 aircraft movements were served by 15 AP1 airports, growing 6 percent compared to November 2022 traffic which was 43,548 movements.

As for cargo movements, continued Faik, 15 AP1 airports served 42,778 tons in November 2023, growing 6 percent compared to November 2022 which reached 40,462 tons.

Traffic throughout November 2023 continues a positive note for the company. With a record of passengers served throughout November 2023 as well as getting closer to the target of passenger traffic this year," he said in an official statement, Monday, December 18.

With the additional number of passenger movements in November, continued Faik, the cumulative AP1 has served 63,637,391 passenger movements from January to November 2023.

"This number has increased by 36 percent compared to the number of passenger movements in the same period in 2022 which reached 46,693,094 passenger movements," he said.

During this period, said Faik, Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport served the highest number of passenger movements, reaching 19,495,126 passengers. This number experienced a very significant growth compared to the same period last year, which reached 79 percent.

In second place, Juanda Airport Surabaya served 12,803,110 passenger movements in the January to November 2023 period, growing 32 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

Meanwhile, the third place in AP1 airport with the highest passenger movement during January to November 2023 was Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar which served 9,633,680 movements, growing by 9 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

The high number of traffic at 15 AP1 airports during the January to November 2023 period cannot be separated from the high reactivation rate and the opening of new flight routes that we have received throughout the year. This also has a positive impact on the recovery rate of passenger movements from January to November 2023 which reached 86 percent," said Faik.

In December, continued Faik, entering the Christmas and New Year or Nataru holiday period which is predicted to control traffic at 15 AP1 airports. In December, AP1 predicts it will serve up to 6.5 million passengers.

"Of course, this will have a very positive impact on the achievement of the target of 70 million passengers in 2023," he concluded.
