JAKARTA - Solopreneur, a new term that is developing in Indonesia, refers to individuals who have successfully played a double role as small business owners, freelancers, or permanent employees with side jobs, while pursuing ambitions to achieve their financial dreams.

One study estimates that there will be around 117 million solopreneurs in Indonesia by 2030, of which 1 in 3 Indonesians will become solopreneurs. This study also estimates that the contribution of solopreneurs to gross domestic product (GDP) is 36 percent by 2030.

One example of a solopreneur from among public figures in Indonesia is Pevita Pearce, a famous film star who is impressive in various roles. Besides being known for his acting talent, Pevita has also become an inspirational figure for many young fans who dream in the world of cinema.

"Being a solopreneur, having many professions carried out simultaneously, seems to be commonplace at this time.
