Regarding The Proposal For The Addition Of The High Speed Train Station In Kopo, KCIC Chooses To Optimize What Already Exists

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has opened its voice regarding the proposed addition of the Fast Train station Right at Kopo, Bandung. KCIC chose to optimize the existing station.

As is known, to serve people who are active from Jakarta to Bandung and vice versa, high-speed trains have four stations, namely Halim, Jakarta; Karawang; Padalarang; and Tegalluar.

KCIC's GM Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, said a number of high-speed train stations that have been operated include Halim, Padalarang and Tegalluar.

Currently, continued Eva, the three stations have been equipped with integration between modes that make it easier for people to go to the station or continue their journey from the high-speed train station.

Meanwhile, people who want to go to the East and South Bandung areas such as Kopo and Buah Batu can choose Tegalluar Station. The location of Tegalluar Station is close to the toll road, namely Exit Toll Summarecon and a number of areas that are easily accessible to vehicles via the new Cibiru bridge.

"From Tegalluar Station, the community can also use Damri services to go to the city center of Bandung and a number of other strategic areas," he said.

Damri service to Bandung Station from Tegalluar Station will go through the Al Jabbar mosque route, Gedebage Station, Metro Indah Mall, Trans Studio Mall, Asia Afrika Street, Bandung Square and Pasar Baru. Besides Damri, there are also shuttle buses to the Sumareccon area.

Regarding the proposed addition of stations in Kopo, Bandung, Eva said that currently KCIC has chosen to optimize the existence of stations that are already available to people who want to go to Bandung from Jakarta and vice versa.

KCIC will continue to develop existing stations, especially in terms of accessibility and intermodal integration. Optimization will also be carried out in terms of operations, services to passengers, and utilization of the area around the station to support the continuity of the Fast Train

Furthermore, Eva said that the addition of new stations also needed permission from the government, in this case the Ministry of Transportation.

"If there is a discourse on adding a new service station, it is necessary to go through various stages. To carry out the construction of a new station, a licensing process and approval from the Ministry of Transportation are needed," he said.

However, Eva emphasized that in principle KCIC supports all development programs that will be carried out to improve Fast Train service and remain open to discussing cooperation with various parties if there are proposals or plans to build a new station.

Previously, the Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Risal Wasal said that his party would review the proposal to add a quick train station in the Kopo area, Bandung.

Furthermore, Risal said, the proposal for additional stations needs to be studied in depth because there are many elements that must be considered. Starting from distance to travel time.
