JAKARTA - The Indonesian government has struck an agreement with Singaporean companies to encourage investment growth in Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

Secretary General of the National Council of SEZ Susiwijono Moegiarso said that to continue to encourage the development of the first Education and Digital SEZ in Indonesia, it was realized by signing three Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between PT Intelegensia Grahatama as the Building and Management Agency (BUPP) of SEZ Singhasari with Singapore companies.

"The signing of the three MoUs between SEZ Singhasari and several companies in Singapore is a tangible manifestation that there are still very large opportunities for investment in SEZs, especially in the fields of manufacturing, digital economy and education," said Susiwijono in his official statement Friday, December 1.

The signing of the first MoU between BUPP KEK Singhasari and Kydon Holdings for the development of EduTech, represented by Janice Chang. Edu Tech is a solution to achieve equal distribution and expansion of access to education.

Suryo also said that the cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore would bring together the interests of the two countries.

"I believe that today's MOU signing ceremony marks the start of your project and investment in the SEZ, but there are still many follow-ups that need to be done in the near future," he concluded.
