Modric Inspired Real Madrid Young Players To Shine

JAKARTA - Real Madrid destroyed the Minera Deportivo in the last 32 of the Copa del Rey, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, early morning WIB.

Los Blancos confirmed their place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey with a 5-0 win over the fourth division club.

Luka Modric captained as well as an inspiration in the match even though he only played 68 minutes.

He also contributed one goal which kept Real Madrid away 4-0 early in the second half.

Luka Modric's brilliant finish to the right corner of the goal after working with Brahim Diaz left the audience at the Cartagonova Stadium standing in a lively atmosphere even though the hosts were left behind.

Madrid took the lead when Federico Valverde fired an impressive volley when the game had only been running for five minutes.

Eduardo Camavinga doubled the lead just eight minutes later with a header.

"I'm happy to be able to score goals for the team, but my job is different, helping in the best possible way, defending and helping."

Apart from contributing one goal, Valverde also made one assist. Don't forget also Fran Garcia's role in donating two assists in the match.

Meanwhile, Minera was not the team that Real Madrid had remained silent. They almost scored when striker Omar Perdomo fired a long-range shot narrowly from the right post of Andriy Lunin's goal.

Despite conceding five goals, Minera goalkeeper Fran Martinez saved several fine shots, including efforts from Valverde and Kylian Mbappe, who only entered in the second half.
