Electric Motor Incentives Become IDR 10 Million, Aismoli Hopes The Rules Will Be Issued In Early December

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli) hopes that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) will immediately complete the revision of the rules related to incentives for converting fuel motorcycles into electric motors.

Later, from the revised results, the incentive for converting electric motorcycles will be Rp. 10 million from the original Rp. 7 million.

"I and the association hope that before December or at least early December there will be (the results of the revision)," said Aismoli Chairman Budi Setyadi when met at the Smesco Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 29.

Previously reported, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has increased the amount of incentives for converting electric motors to IDR 10 million per unit.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said this policy had been implemented and was expected to boost people's wishes in the conversion program of electric motorcycles.

"Yes, it has been decided Rp. 10 million for a conversion motorbike," said Arifin when met by media crews at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Friday, November 10.

Arifin said that the increase in the value of this incentive was intended so that there was a difference between the purchase of a new motorbike and a motorbike that was converted from fuel oil (BBM) to electricity.

Thus, more and more people are interested in converting to certified workshops.

"Now, right, new motorbikes and used motorbikes must be different," added Arifin.

This policy follows the revision of the previous regulation which stipulates 1 NIK 1 electric motor.
