Viral Cancellation Of Train Tickets With Booking Code, This Is KAI's Explanation

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has opened its voice about the cancellation of train tickets with a booking code or booking code. Ticket cancellation without the knowledge of the owner through a Loket Box at Cimahi Station has gone viral on social media X.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said based on some of the information obtained, it was alleged that the ticket owner had shared his booking code in one of the conversation groups, so that it was misused by irresponsible people.

Furthermore, Joni said the ticket was not canceled, but was rescheduled (changed its travel schedule). Initially, it was recorded that the Harina train was related to Bandung-Surabaya Pasar Turi with departures on November 13, 2023.

"Then a reschedule was carried out by an irresponsible person who became the Ciremai train for the Cimahi-Semarang Tawang relationship of Bank Jateng with departures on November 14, 2023. So the ticket owner was refused at the boarding gate, because the date and train on his ticket did not match," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, November 14.

Reflecting on this case, Joni also asked the public of prospective passengers not to distribute the train ticket booking code obtained after the payment process to other people carelessly.

Joni emphasized that booking codes are very vital and private. The reason is, booking codes can be used to cancel or change schedules.

"Code booking is a very vital privacy to use during the boarding process, if it is to cancel, or change the schedule," said Joni.

Joni continued, if the booking code is known to other people, it can potentially be misused as in the viral upload on social media.

"KAI regrets this action, thus harming the owner of the booking code who was supposed to leave using the Harina train from Bandung to Semarang Tawang Bank Central Java," he said.

KAI emphasized that the provisions for canceling or changing schedules have paid attention to the level of security and ease of customers.

"Currently, KAI continues to investigate the alleged perpetrator who was caught on CCTV as a person accessing the booking code process at the Cimahi Station Counter Box," he said.

The stages of the process of changing the train ticket schedule at the Loket Box are as follows:

1. Select the Change of Train Ticket Travel Schedule button.

2. Enter the booking code to change the schedule.

3. Enter a new relationship.

4. Select a new departure date.

Meanwhile, the stages of the process of canceling train tickets at the Loket Box are as follows:

1. Select the Train ticket cancellation button.

2. Enter the booking code and passenger ID number.

3. Select the name of the passenger to be canceled.

4. Fill in the refund data.

5. The refund method is carried out by transfer.
