Wow, Indonesia Enters The Third Country Most Cyber Attacks

JAKARTA - Chief Executive of Banking Supervision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Dian Ediana Rae said Indonesia was one of the countries that received the most cyber attacks.

In fact, Indonesia is ranked third in the world as a country by accepting the most cyber attacks.

"Indonesia is in the top five of the countries that have received the most attacks (cyber. Now, the number three is exactly," said Dian at The Finance Executive Forum at the Kempinski Hotel, Tuesday, November 14.

As for his presentation, the number of cyber attacks on Indonesia reached 13.2 billion in 2022.

Meanwhile, the number of cyberattacks experienced by Russia and France reached 22.3 billion and 13.8 billion, respectively.

"I think it's very, very large (the number of cyber attacks), only losing to Russia and France," he said.

With this incident, Dian asked all banks in Indonesia to strengthen the security of digital systems so that they can anticipate cyber attacks and secure customer personal data.

"This is a serious problem, let alone a ransomware attack, the ransom will continue to increase," he said.

Meanwhile, based on data from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) in the period January to early June 2023, BSSN detected that there were more than 204 million traffic anomalies that occurred in cyberspace.

Dian conveyed that this is important to be aware of because based on sectors, the largest cyber crime attacks three sectors, namely the administrative sectors of government, energy and human resources, and the financial sector.

"This is what we need to be aware of because this cyber attack, if divided by sector, is in third place, after the administration of government number one, and Energy and Human Resources number 2, and third, the financial sector is targeted," he said.

In addition, in order to increase banking security from cyber attacks, Dian asked for collaboration with various parties so that cyber attacks could be stopped properly.
