JAKARTA - The pedestrian bridge (JPO) that connects JIS to the Ancol area, Jakarta, has been completed. This JPO is to support the U-17 World Cup.

The JPO was built on Jalan Ketel, Ancol, Pademangan, near the gates of the Ancol Dreamland Park Carnival, until it penetrated the North Plaza side of JIS directly.

"As one of the venues for the U-17 World Cup, the JPO was built specifically to connect the JIS stadium to the Ancol area so that audience/visitor access to the stadium becomes easier and more comfortable," said PUPR Ministry Spokesperson Endra S. Atmawidjaja in an official statement received by VOI, Monday, November 13.

Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta-West Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) Brawijaya added that the JPO was built with a route of 453 meters (m) and a pedestrian width of 6 m.

The JPO construction access to the JIS stadium is designed using an upper structure with steel construction, precast floor plates, and a foundation with a combination of concrete and steel stakepoles.

"This JPO connects JIS with the parking lot in Ancol from the north side of the stadium and crosses several obstacles, including the KRL double track route, RE Martadinata Street, Ancol River, Harbor Road Toll Road, and the Harbour Road II Toll plan," he said.

Brawijaya said the construction of JIS JPO was carried out by AMKA Inti Beton Trans Konstruksi contractor KSO and supervisory consultant PT Seecons with a construction contract value of Rp95 billion.

"The JPO is planned to connect the JIS stadium with the parking lot at the carnival gate, with a capacity of around 1,200 four-wheeled vehicles and 700 two-wheeled vehicles," he added.

Previously reported, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Highways carried out the construction of the People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) from the parking lot in Ancol, North Jakarta to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Stadium.

This is a form of preparation for JIS as the main arena for the U-17 World Cup.

"We are building a JPO that connects the Ancol parking area with JIS, which we are currently installing the stakes," said Director General of Highways Hedy Rahadian quoting Antara.

Hedy said that his party is targeting the construction of the JPO from Ancol to JIS to be completed before the U-17 World Cup event.

"We are targeting the construction of the JPO for JIS to be completed before the implementation of the U-17 World Cup event in November 2023," he said.

It is known that the world tournament which will take place from November 10 to December 2 will be held at the Jakarta International Stadium (Jakarta), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo), and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya).

The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) proposes that the Indonesian national team compete in Jakarta. In addition, the opening was also held in Jakarta, while the semifinal and final matches were held in Solo.

For Indonesia, hosting the U-17 World Cup is an honor because it has the trust to hold a world football championship for generations of future footballers.
