JAKARTA - Meratus President Director Slamet Raharjo said his party would play an important role in the operational model 'Hub and Spokesperson' in collaboration with PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni).

Slamet explained that this collaboration reflects Meratus' joint determination to form a stronger and more integrated maritime future for Indonesia.

"With this 'HUB and SpOKe' operational model, we not only expand our role in supporting the national economy, but we hope it can have a positive impact on local growth in the regions," Slamet told reporters, Wednesday, October 11.

As part of this program, Meratus will play an important role in the operational model 'HUB and Spokesperson', in which Meratus will transport large quantities of cargo using container ships from the main port in Surabaya to Kupang and return to Surabaya.

Meanwhile, PT Pelni will be responsible for distributing cargo to pioneering ports in areas, such as Sabu, Rote, Wini, Roofupu, Calabai, Larantuka, Lembata, and Kalabahi.

Meanwhile, Director of Sea Goods and Toll Transport Business, PT Pelni (Persero) Yossianis Marciano, said that this collaboration with Meratus was part of the government's assignment to suppress price disparities in the outermost, farthest, remote and border areas (3TP), as well as for smooth distribution.

"Today is a proud moment for all of us, where representatives from the government, state-owned enterprises, and shipping companies, in this case Meratus, have succeeded in showing collaboration to support and succeed in the Sea Toll Program," he said.

"By optimizing this route, we hope that it will not only reduce price disparities between regions, islands and regions, but can also reduce logistics costs," he added.

For your information, Meratus has shown its support for this government program by facilitating direct delivery for the H-3 Sea Toll Road (Jakarta-Padang-Jakarta), T-20 (Surabaya-Tarakan-Surabaya), and T-33 (Surabaya-Anggrek-Surabaya).

As a form of sustainable commitment, Meratus will play an active role in connecting remote areas and the outer islands in Indonesia.

By focusing on equitable logistics distribution, Meratus is determined to ensure that every Indonesian citizen can benefit from strong and efficient maritime connectivity across the country.
