JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has imposed sanctions on the online loan application (pinjol) owned by PT Pembiayaan Digital Indonesia Ada Kami.

Chief Executive of the Supervision of Financing Institutions, Ventura Capital Companies, Micro Financial Institutions and Other Financial Services Institutions OJK, Agusman said his party had previously summoned the P2P lending fintech organizers.

"OJK has imposed sanctions in the form of a warning letter to Adami for violations committed relating to unethical collection," he said at the OJK Board of Commissioners Press Conference in September, Monday, October 9.

In addition, he said, OJK has also ordered Ada Kami to immediately conduct an in-depth investigation and identify information related to suicide victims and provide a hotline to receive complaints from the public regarding the identity of the victim.

"OJK has ordered the Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association (AFPI) to examine the suitability of the imposition of interest and administrative costs imposed. Ada kami with the Code of Conduct AFPI," he continued.

Not only that, OJK has also asked Adakami to report all the results of the investigation and follow-up carried out by Adami in the context of resolving this case.

"OJK will act decisively if the results of the examination find any violations committed by Adamami," continued Agusman.

Previously at a press conference last Friday, September 6, he said that his party had not yet found the identity of the suspected customer who committed suicide because he received terror from debt collector (DC) Ada Kami.

"Since the news aired, we have conducted an investigation, and we have not found the identity of the victim," said Ada Kami President Director Bernardino Moningka Vega Jr.

Bernardino said the company was still waiting for information on the identity of the victim, such as a full name and ID card, from the party that went viral in this case. However, even though it has been three weeks since, Ada We still have not received a response. Furthermore, he said again, case investigations will be carried out by the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim).

"Furthermore, Bareskrim will continue its investigation process on its own based on its authority in accordance with the mandate of the applicable law, where Ada We have no right to intervene in the investigation process," concluded Bernardino.
