Bali Has The Opportunity To Become A World Financial Center

DENPASAR - Member of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) Made Mangku Pastika is of the view that Bali has the opportunity to be developed into a sustainable world financial center amidst the "brand" of the name Bali which is already known globally.

"Bali has enormous potential. Bali is already world wide (covering the whole world). We no longer need to promote the name of the Balinese brand," said Pastika, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, September 24.

In addition, said Pastika, currently many major and world-famous entrepreneurs have come to Bali, and even already have property and run a business on the Island of the Gods.

"So, next to tourists coming to Bali to travel to see the beautiful but at the same time they can do business. Business does not use factories, but the business is a money factory," said the former governor of Bali for two periods.

According to him, the proposal to realize Bali as a sustainable world financial center had previously been communicated with the Minister of Finance, the Governor of Bank Indonesia and the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners while he was still the Governor of Bali.

By realizing Bali as the world's financial center, Pastika continued, Bali can reap part of the coffers of money from the business cycle that has been in Singapore.

"So, why should it be in other countries? Try Kadin to start thinking about it (Bali as the world's financial center)," said the man who is no longer running for DPD RI member.

By building a "money factory" it is also considered not to cause pollution because it does not require the construction of new factories in Bali.

"We just need to build a solid, stable infrastructure to support that. Among other things, strong internet infrastructure must be supported," he said.

But if the telecommunications infrastructure and internet are not reliable, people will also think about doing business in Bali.

"This idea must be able to be whispered to the Acting Governor of Bali and the upcoming governor so that people from various countries who come to Bali do not only come to see the beauty of Bali," said Pastika.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Bali Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Made Ariandi also agreed that Bali has the opportunity to become a world financial center because it is supported by the location of Bali in the tropics.

"Usually successful entrepreneurs are elderly and most comfortable living in the tropics. In winter they don't get cold and in summer they don't get hot. In Bali they can naturally get everything," he said.

The added value of Bali, said Ariandi, is also supported by its people who are friendly with open culture.

Ariandi also said that not a few successful world entrepreneurs already have property and have run their businesses in Bali Province.

"Bali is an Indonesian window in the eyes of the world. How can Bali be developed into a world financial center by combining models in Switzerland and Singapore. Our portion in Kadin will play it as the host, become a global business partner who already exists in Bali," he said.

Ariandi admitted that Kadin had prepared human resources by educating through vocational programs, certification and collaborating with strategic partners.

The series of commemorations of the 55th Anniversary of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bali Province is also filled with healthy and gymnastics together as well as free health checks for the community in collaboration with the Puri Raharja General Hospital.
