JAKARTA - The government continues to carry out efforts to maintain the stability of supply and price of cooking oil commodities at the consumer level in a sustainable manner. One of them is through the Food SOE Holding ID FOOD which is tasked with distributing cooking oil to all provinces in Indonesia.

ID FOOD President Director Frans Marganda Tambunan, Saturday, September 16, in Jakarta said the ID FOOD contribution to the distribution of cooking oil for supply stabilization and price was carried out massively since early 2022.

"At that time, the stock and price of cooking oil were fluctuating, so through our subsidiaries in the distribution trade sector, namely PT Perusahaan Trade Indonesia (PPI), PT Rajawali Nusindo, and PT GIEB Indonesia which have branch distributions throughout the province, assigned to encourage the distribution of cooking oil throughout Indonesia," he said.

According to Frans, in 2023, ID FOOD will also continue to distribute cooking oil in bulk, regular, and packaged Oilita. This step is to support the government's efforts to maintain the adequacy of cooking oil supply, so that people can access this staple commodity at a reasonable price according to the HET (Highest Retail Price) that has been set.

Based on data compiled, in 2023 from January to mid-September, ID FOOD has supplied 60 million liters of cooking oil. Consisting of 8 million liters of Oil, 11 million liters of regular oil, and 41 million liters of bulk oil.

"This figure will still increase as the ID FOOD continues to distribute cooking oil this year," he said.

For its contribution and consistency in supporting the government's program, no doubt ID FOOD received the Best Cooking Oil Commodity Actors Award at the 2023 SPHP Award organized by the National Food Agency (NFA), Friday, (15/09/2023), in Denpasar Bali.

Frans said ID FOOD is ready to continue to support various national food security programs launched by the government.

"Not only cooking oil, we are also currently assigned to distribute egg and chicken meat for 1.4 million Families Prone to Stunting (KRS). In addition, we are also involved in the Government Food Reserve (CPP) program. ID FOOD's active role is in line with the purpose of establishing Food SOE Holding, which is to support food security through availability, quality, affordability, and sustainability," he explained.

Regarding the future distribution of cooking oil, Frans revealed, he continues to strengthen collaboration with NFA, related technical ministries, and cooking oil business players to maintain even supply availability.

"Previously, we have also collaborated with the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Trade, and NFA, to send cooking oil to eastern Indonesia via the sea toll road. We will continue to strengthen this kind of collaboration," he explained.

Meanwhile, NFA Head Arief Prasetyo Adi at the awarding ceremony for the 2023 SPHP Award, appreciated all food stakeholders who have maintained food from upstream to downstream through concrete actions. This collaboration is a good effort to maintain food supply stability and prices, food inflation, as well as increase the economic growth of food business actors.
