JAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT (Light Rail Transit) (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi) has become a leap of transportation sector development technology in Indonesia, which has started operating since Monday, August 28, 2023. To ensure the maintain strength of this National Strategic Project (PSN), PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or GIS, has dedicated its concrete products to support the resilience of the advanced LRT construction.

Officially launched by President Joko Widodo on Monday, the Jabodebek LRT further complements public transportation modes in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings, such as MRT (Integrated Mode), KRL (Electric Rail Train), TransJakarta, and airport trains. The presence of the Jabodebek LRT is expected to attract people to use public transportation modes to reduce congestion and pollution levels, which are often a problem in the capital area.

GIS Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, as a state-owned company in the field of building materials solutions, SIG is proud to be able to contribute to the development of National Strategic Projects such as the Jabodebek LRT and Kelapa Gading LRT which support connectivity of buffer cities in Jakarta and ensure smoother, faster, comfortable, and pollution mobility of society.

To realize a solid and reliable construction in the long term, GIS supplies high-performance concrete to the construction of the Cawang - Dukuh Atas LRT. Previously, GIS had also been involved in supplying concrete for the Kelapa Gading LRT project. This is a form of our support for infrastructure development programs implemented by the government to accelerate economic equity and improve people's welfare," said Vita Mahreyni, in a statement, quoted on Sunday, September 4.

Vita further explained that the concrete products supplied from the STIG batching plant in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Kuningan, South Jakarta, and Sentul Bogor include CastoCrete, concrete solutions for pre-printed concrete (precast) or pre-press production that generally require strong initial suppression. Then PileCrete, the high-performance concrete solution for the foundation structure of the pole (bore pile). In the Cawang - Dukuh Atas LRT project, SIG concrete products are used for the LRT pole foundation work type, LRT stacking poles, LRT lines, LRT working floors, and bridge girders.

In addition to supplying concrete at the LRT project, GIS also supplies rough aggregates (mixed concrete mixtures) of stone splits measuring 10-20 mm which are sent to precast factories in Plant Sentul and Plant Gatot Subroto for the Cibubur - Cawang - Dukuh Atas LRT construction project.

The aggregate product from SIG has met ASTM (American Standard Testing and Material) standards, a world organization that develops standardization of techniques for materials, products, systems and services. In addition, aggregate products originating from mining areas in Maloko, Rumpin, Bogor, also have a number of advantages, both in terms of size quality (gradation), stone type weight (density), stone cleaning (washing lost), and various other technical aspects, as well as in terms of quantity with a commitment to guaranteed material supply to projects.

The size of the aggregate product supplied is in accordance with the required specifications, namely 10 - 20 mm. The aggregate is also cubic (box) so that it is more massive and stronger when mixed with cement for the manufacture of precast concrete. The combination of the two gives strength which ultimately affects stability in the mixture because each aggregate particle roughly locks each other. From the heavy side of the type, the aggregate product of GIS is in the range of 2.59 which makes the concrete have a stronger pressure.
