IKN Progress Reaches 40 Percent Until August 10, 2023, Here Are The Details

JAKARTA - The government continues to accelerate the National Capital City (IKN) development project. Moreover, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is rumored to be holding a 17th ceremony at IKN in 2024.

Most recently, the Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force at the Ministry of PUPR, Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, said that the progress of IKN development had reached 40 percent, until August 10, 2023.

"There are 78 packages of total work in 2020-2024 with Batch 1, especially those who started working. Batch 1 has 39 packages with a value of IDR 24 trillion, the progress is 40.0131 percent," Danis told reporters at the PUPR Ministry Building, Jakarta, Friday, August 18.

Danis said that in the future the improvement in development will appear to be in line with the work of buildings that have begun to penetrate the area above the building, where the foundation construction has been completed. He is optimistic that his physical progress can reach 70 percent, by the end of 2023.

"If one week the progress is an average of 2 percent, it is hoped that by the end of the year it will be 70 percent," he said.

He explained that Batch 1's work is a contracted package since 2020-March 2023. The projects that are included in Batch 1 are starting from the field of water resources (SDA), one of which is the Sepaku Semoi Dam.

This dam in a structure and overall manner has been completed. It is hoped that later it will be able to produce (water filling) in September 2023 and inaugurated around October-November.

"Then, flood control. So, the manufacture to specifically control 1A has reached 60 percent," said Danis.

Then, there is also the handling of the Sepaku River flood whose development is minimal because there are obstacles in land acquisition. Likewise, the reservoir in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) is somewhat hampered due to land, which progress is only around 20 percent. Then, the construction of the national axis of progress has reached around 40 percent.

"It's faster (development) on the west axis. Although there are some things that haven't been done, we can speed it up," said Danis.

"Then, the 5A 39.33 percent toll road. Then, the 3A segment toll road has started to progress, the land acquisition has started to improve. The realization is 14.6 percent, as well as the 3B IKN segment toll road which has reached 30 percent or faster," he added.

Next, in the ranks of the project, the Directorate General of Human Settlements has the construction of the State Palace with a construction progress of 21.7 percent, then the Presidential Office has 25.79 percent, and the Presidential Secretariat Building has reached 22.31 percent.

The head of the Task Force added that the average progress of this development project was faster than the target. "The arrangement of the national axis has also been 53 percent. I think by the end of this year it will be completed. The Ministry of State Secretary's office building has been 15 percent or faster than planned," he said.

Meanwhile, for the construction of the Coordinating Ministry (Kemenko) 1 Building, 12.8 percent, the Coordinating Ministry for 3 has 9 percent, the Coordinating Ministry for 4 has 13 percent, and the construction of the Ministerial Position Tax House (RTJM) has recorded a progress of 21.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the Balang Island Bridge, which was a bit late due to problems in the construction of the foundation, has now reached 37 percent progress. Then, there is also the construction of the 87 percent pier and it is targeted that October 2023 will be completed.

"The late ones are the Balang Island Bridge, Sepaku Semoi Dam, IPAL, and reservoirs. So we can catch up with 4 packages relatively, but overall this package 1 is on schedule which is 40 percent," said Danis.

Furthermore, those who enter Batch 2, on average are still in the process of making contracts. One of them is for ASN flats, which take a large portion of investment in this second development package. Danis said that the construction of ASN flats will start signing contracts next week.

"What is quite large in package 2 is for ASN housing with 47 towers and 6A toll roads, 6B. Actually, ASN (development) signed the contract yesterday, August 16, but somewhat resigned, even though the auction was finished," he explained.

"So, overall Batch 1 package on schedule is 40 percent. Of the 38 packages, there are 4 that are late, I don't think there is a problem," he concluded.
