Entering The 33rd Rank In 100 Largest Companies, Garuda Indonesia: In The Future We Will Be Healthier And More Profitable

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) or Garuda airline is listed on the list of the largest companies in Fortune Indonesia 100 of 2023. Garuda Indonesia ranks 33rd as one of the companies that is considered to have the best performance throughout 2022.

The acquisition of rank 33 is the result of a calculation from Fortune Indonesia using a methodology according to the Fortune 500 Global standard which has been used for almost seven decades, which is based on total revenue from the fiscal year 2022.

Where companies included in the list have released financial reports (audited) with a maximum period of June 30, 2023.

Garuda airline recorded operating revenues of US$2.1 billion in 2022, or a significant growth of around 57 percent compared to operating revenues in the previous year.

"In the future, the company will continuously optimize efforts to ensure that Garuda Indonesia becomes a healthy and profitable business entity through various strategic steps of the company," said Garuda Indonesia President Director, Irfan Setiatuta in a written statement, quoted Monday, August 14.

He continued, various steps to accelerate the growth of performance are certainly a representation of Garuda's (GIAA) commitment to always be able to provide full service flight services that are increasingly seamless for the needs of service users, as well as expected to contribute to Indonesia's economic growth.

Furthermore, Garuda Indonesia also continues to strengthen or expand the Umrah market share by expanding the Middle East flight network. Garuda Indonesia officially serves direct flights to the Holy Land from Yogyakarta on Saturday 12 August. The direct flight service is carried out through the Yogyakarta-Jeddah (pp) flight route, which is served with the A330-300 fleet.

With the operation of the flight route, Garuda Indonesia is currently the only airline serving direct flights from Yogyakarta and Central Java to the Holy Land. On the inaugural flight, Garuda Indonesia transported at least 215 prospective pilgrims.

Irfan Setiaputra said that the opening of direct flight routes to the Holy Land from Yogyakarta was an effort by Garuda Indonesia airlines to optimize opportunities for the Umrah market from DIY and Central Java.

It is also a manifestation of a great commitment to provide connectivity and the best service for Muslim communities from the territory of Yogyakarta and its surroundings, who want to travel to the Holy Land

"The operation of the Yogyakarta-Jeddah (pp) flight route is a form of the company's move to continue to answer the community's need to be able to travel to the Holy Land safely and comfortably without transiting to other cities or countries, which we hope will be an added value for the congregation, especially those aged," said Irfan.

The Yogyakarta-Jeddah direct flights will be served once per week, namely on Saturday, which departs from Yogyakarta International Airport with GA-942 at 11.05 WIB and is scheduled to arrive at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah at 17.25 LT.

The return flights to Yogyakarta will be served with GA-943 which departs from King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah at 19.25 LT and is scheduled to land again at Yogyakarta International Airport at 10.25 WIB the next day.
