JAKARTA - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI) and Muamalat Institute (MI) collaborated with the Alauddin Makassar State Islamic University (UIN Alauddin Makassar) to encourage Islamic banking literacy and inclusion in the Makassar area.

Regional Head of Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua (Salampua) Bank Muamalat Ahmad Salihin said that his party has a strong commitment to support the development of the sharia economy in Indonesia.

"We understand very well the importance of the role of academics and students in creating new innovations in the field of sharia economy," he said in a press statement today, Friday, May 12.

According to Ahmad, this program can be a good place to share knowledge and experience in the banking sector and the sharia economy. Therefore, his party stated that it is ready to provide support and cooperation in developing the potentials that exist in the Islamic economy.

Through human resource training provided, it is hoped that university graduates can increase competitiveness in the world of work and business in the era of globalization. Because, currently there is still a gap between the quality of higher education graduates and the needs of the world of work/business. This is because one of them is due to the constraints on accessibility of literacy related to Islamic economy and finance in the regions, especially Islamic banking," he said.

In the same agreement, the Executive Director of the Muamalat Institute, Anton Hendrianto, revealed that his party continues to strive to build the quality of Indonesian human resources that excel through the triple helix model synergy, namely by unifying collaboration between elements of the government, campus and industry to support the growth of the Halal Industry and Islamic banking towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

Therefore, the Muamalat Institute will play an active role in bridging these synergies with concrete programs, such as research, business incubation, apprenticeship, competency certification, guest lecturers and literacy movements. All of this is to create links and match and support Tri Dharma Higher Education," he said.

Similarly, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UIN Alauddin Makassar Abustani Ilyas stated that as a campus community, his party understands very well the importance of the role of the financial sector in the economy, especially in the context of Islamic finance.

"I feel lucky because through the cooperation offered by MI, such as guest lectures, research and training and certification programs, what we need is not only beneficial for students but also for lecturers," said Ilyas.

He also wants this synergy to remain sustainable in order to ensure that the future of Indonesian human resources as well as the sharia industry in the country can achieve brilliant glory.

"We also hope that cooperation with MI and BMI can continue to be sustainable and provide mutual benefits for both parties because togetherness and success are measured by cooperation," he stressed.
