President Director Of Destiawan Suspect In Corruption Case, Waskita Appoints Mursyid As Acting President Director

JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) has appointed Mursyid as Acting President Director replacing Destiawan Soewardjono who was caught in a corruption case.

In an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, Tuesday, May 2, it was stated that Mursyid's appointment as Acting President Director was effective as of April 29, 2023. Meanwhile, Mursyid previously served as Director of HCM, System Development and Legal Waskita Karya.

WSKT temporarily suspended Destiawan's position as President Director of WSKT through Letter Number 13/RHS/WK/DK/2023. In the letter, the Board of Commissioners temporarily suspended Destiawan and appointed Mursyid as his successor.

"It can be informed that the Board of Commissioners of the Company has appointed the Director of HCM, System Development and Legal PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk as the Acting Officer (Plt.) to replace the duties, authorities and responsibilities of the President Director of the Company based on the letter above," wrote the management of WSKT.

The appointment of Mursyid as Plt. The President Director has referred to the Company's Article 11 Paragraph 20 Articles of the Company's Articles of Association. Furthermore, Destiawan's temporary suspension will be followed up in accordance with applicable regulations.

Mursyid was appointed Director of Waskita Karya based on the 2022 GMS on June 16, 2022. He received a Master Management degree from Gajah Mada University (UGM) in 2010, and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering at UGM in 1993.

Mursyid served as Director of Human Capital and Development of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) in 2022, Director of Human Capital and Production of PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk. (WTON) in 2019-2022, as well as Director of Human Capital and Information System of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) in 2018.

Previously reported, the Attorney General's Office through the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) named Waskita Karya President Director Destiawan Soewardjono as a suspect in a corruption case.

Destiawan became a suspect in the alleged corruption case in irregularities in the use of financing facilities from several banks carried out by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk (WSBP).

The Head of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said that the role of Destiawan was known to have ordered and approved the disbursement of Supply Chain Financing (SCF) funds by using fake supporting documents. This is used as payment for the company's debts caused by disbursement of fictitious work projects to fulfill its requests.

"The 1 suspect is DES as the President Director of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. The period July 2020 until now," said Ketut in his statement, Saturday, April 29.

In order to speed up the investigation process, Destiawan was detained at the Salemba State Detention Center (Rutan) of the Attorney General's Office for 20 days from April 28, 2023 to May 17, 2023.
