Ministry Of Transportation Transfers Remaining Tickets Of Mudik Motis Program To General Passengers

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation will allocate the remaining tickets for the Free Motorbike program (Motis) for public passenger tickets.

This step is to accommodate the general public who are not registered in the program.

This was conveyed by the Director of Railway Traffic and Transportation Djarot Tri Wardhono in Jakarta, Thursday, April 13.

Djarot explained that the enthusiasm of the people who were still looking for train tickets for homecoming had encouraged DGKA to open a passenger quota for the Motis program so that it could be accessed by more people who still needed train tickets for homecoming.

"Currently, passenger tickets for the MOTIS program can be accessed by the public on the train ticket sales application provided by the operator and we will continue to update them regularly to adjust the availability of the remaining tickets," said Djarot.

The passenger ticket quota that has been provided by DJKA for the 2023 Motis program is 46,720 passenger tickets. While the motorbike quota provided in the Motis program reaches 10,440 motorbike quotas.

As of April 13, 2023, the quota of used passenger tickets for the Motis program has reached 9,208 tickets and the quota of motorcycles used has reached 6,330.

"So that the Motis passenger ticket quota can be fully utilized by passengers, we decided to provide the remaining tickets so that operators can sell them to the public," said Djarot.

Furthermore, Djarot said, special passenger tickets for the Motis program could be purchased by the public at very cheap prices, starting from Rp. 10,000 to Rp. 20,000.

"This Motis passenger ticket is a ticket that has the support of a passenger service obligation (PSO) subsidy from DJKA so that it can be purchased at a very cheap price and far from the price of train tickets in general," said Djarot.

In order to be able to buy tickets at these low prices, Djarot appealed to the public to periodically check the ticket sales application provided by the operator. This is because new return or return tickets will be available in the application on the same date as the departure date starting at 00.00 WIB.

"Meanwhile, contra flow tickets will be available in the application on D-1 from the date of departure starting at 00.00 WIB," he said.

Given the great public interest in these homecoming tickets, Djarot emphasized that the Motis passenger tickets that were opened to the public were limited to those that were still available.

"Hopefully with the opening of Motis passenger tickets to the public, it can encourage people to travel back and forth by train and reduce traffic jams on the highway," said Djarot.
