Pertamina Plumpang Depot Made Buffer Zone 50 M, KBUMN Leaves Citizens' Fate To DKI Provincial Government

PT Pertamina (Persero) will build a buffer zone or a safe area 50 meters from the fence in the Oil Fuel Terminal (TBBM) or Pertamina Plumpang Depot area, this step is in accordance with instructions from the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir.

"There is still a Plumpang Depot there for the next three years. You can't just move suddenly, right? Then what about the residents who live here? It's dangerous, that's why they make buffer zones," he said.

Arya admitted that he did not know the results of the investigation of the fire incident that occurred at TBBM or Pertamina Pelumpang Depot. However, the residential position of residents who are too close to the Depo Plumpang fence is very dangerous for the safety of residents.

"This vital object must have a buffer zone, if there is no danger of its citizens. It could threaten his life every day. No one can guarantee it," he explained.

Regarding the affected residents from the buffer zone development, Arya said that this is the responsibility of the local government, in this case the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, in the medium and long term solution, said Arya, SOE Minister Erick Thohir has instructed Pertamina to move the Pelumpang Depot to PT Pelindo's land, in Kalibaru, North Jakarta.

"The Pertamina depot will be relocated. Development until it becomes it will take 3-4 years. That means a medium-long solution," he said.

Arya explained that the Pertamina Plumpang Depot needs to be relocated or moved because the depot age is 50 years old. Therefore, it is natural to evaluate.

"The eligibility age is 80 years, the Pertamina Plumpang Depot was made in 1974, it's been 50 years, right, it's natural, we're not evaluating? Naturally, the need for fuel is increasing. It's natural that we think for the next 50-80 years? It's natural. We've moved it, maybe it's time to move," he said.
