Budget Absorption Of IDR 95 Billion, This Is A Series Of Advantages That Can Be Obtained By Indonesia As Chair Of ASEAN 2023

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Finance has received the House of Representatives approval to increase next year's budget of IDR 95.23 billion related to the agenda of Indonesia's Chairmanship in ASEAN 2023.

This is reflected in the approval of the Ministry of Finance's Budget and Work Plan (RKA) submission from the previous IDR 45.12 trillion to IDR 45.22 trillion.

Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio Kacaribu, said the short-term benefit of ASEAN's presence next year is to strengthen the economic diplomacy agenda in areas that have been rolled out by the government before.

"Especially in our achievements at the G20 this year, we can proceed stronger in ASEAN", he said when stating Commission XI of the House of Representatives, quoted on Tuesday, September 6.

According to Febrio, the government is also using ASEAN Chairmanship to introduce national products and culture to foreign groups.

"The holding of meetings that are all held in Indonesia can certainly increase economic and tourism activities", he said.

In the long term, it is hoped that the leadership of the Republic of Indonesia can be an important milestone in strengthening its influence in Southeast Asia.

"This is a momentum that we can take advantage of in strengthening Indonesia's position both regionally and internationally", said Febrio Kacaribu.
