JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung supports PLN Group's steps in adopting an environmentally friendly lifestyle (electrifying lifestyle) in the community because it can create national energy resilience.

"This step is in line with the commitment of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto to build national energy security by optimizing natural resources in a sustainable manner," Yuliot said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 22.

He conveyed, with the development of the electricity ecosystem, including anticipating industrial needs, the government is also trying to how to consolidate.

"For example, in the electric vehicle ecosystem, demand in the future will increase, then household activities will also increase and there will also be improvements in industry," said Yuliot.

Yuliot continued, the steps taken by PLN in campaigning for an environmentally friendly lifestyle in line with the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem which is currently being encouraged by the government.

"So, while this downstream program includes the electric vehicle ecosystem. We see that with the change in consumption use from fuel to electric-based vehicles, there will definitely be an increase in the need for electricity," said Yuliot.

Through the PLN Icon Plus subholding, PLN continues to encourage the public to apply an all-electric lifestyle that is emission-free and environmentally friendly.

This commitment was proven by PLN Icon Plus by presenting the ICON NEXT exhibition at the Electricity Connect 2024 on 20-22 November 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta.

The ICON NEXT futuristics exhibition titled "Transform Your Future, Now" at Beyond KWh Zone is designed as an exploration space to introduce various technological innovations to a smart and sustainable electric-based future lifestyle.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that his party responded quickly to the energy transition agenda from the government along with the environmentally friendly lifestyle trend.

In that case, PLN Group will not only provide reliable green electricity supply, but will also create environmentally friendly technological innovations.

"Currently, lifestyle trends are starting to shift towards an environmentally friendly lifestyle. This includes the use of electric vehicles and other zero-emission technology. The role of technological innovation is vital here, because it will become the basis for future electrifying lifestyle adoption," Darmawan explained.

President Director of PLN Icon Plus Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi said that his party fully supports the government's energy transition steps with various electrical technology innovations that are useful for the community.

"ICON NEXT not only displays technological innovation, but also becomes a forum for PLN Icon Plus to show how digital solutions can support a sustainable energy transition, encourage efficiency, and create an environmentally friendly ecosystem," said Ari.

In the ICON NEXT at Electricity Connect 2024, PLN Icon Plus presents seven thematic areas, namely The Future Electricity System, The Future Home, The Future Office, The Future Vehicle, The Future Energy Transition, The Future Lifestyle, and The Future Telecommunication System.

Each zone displays innovative solutions in supporting the green energy transition and digital transformation in various aspects of people's lives.

In addition, PLN Icon Plus also introduced smart home and smart office solutions that support operational efficiency with technology such as artificial intelligence virtual assistants and carbon and energy management.

There are also innovations in the field of smart electricity and smart telco in the form of PLN Mobile applications, EV Digital Services, and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platform.

On that occasion, PLN Icon Plus also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk related to the collaboration of the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem.

This collaboration includes technology integration, relevant data exchange, to increasing the capacity of human resources from both companies.

"As a subholding beyond kWh of PLN, PLN Icon Plus has a strategic role in supporting the development of electric vehicle support systems. This collaboration is an important momentum for us to expand our contribution to energy transformation, as well as support the innovation of electric vehicle technology in Indonesia," said Ari.
