JAKARTA – PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BNI) recorded growth in the distribution of people's business loans (KUR) of 28.9 percent year on year (yoy) in April 2022 to IDR 47.6 trillion.

BNI's Director of Institutional Relations Sis Apik Wijayanto said the book was in line with the trend of economic recovery, as well as strategic efforts to encourage the performance of MSME debtor partners.

"This is the role of government KUR channeling agents who are proactive in seeking new economic growth potential in the MSME segment," he said in an official statement quoted on Monday, May 23.

According to Sis Apik, the company is trusted by the government to get an additional KUR allocation of up to IDR 38 trillion per 2022. This value is up 22.7 percent compared to 2021 which is IDR 30.95 trillion.

"Our efforts are to maintain the momentum for the growth of the MSME segment. Of course, this trend will continue to be maintained so that it can help more business actors to be able to improve their performance," he said.

Sis Apik added that the company has three main strategies to support KUR's performance this year.

First, BNI encourages the distribution of cluster-based KUR, one of which is by focusing on working on the potential of the regional agricultural sector. Second, BNI increases financing to corporate debtor partners through a value chain scheme.

"Finally, we use credit digitization tools as well as collaboration with strategic partners to support the optimization of MSME big data, which ultimately accelerates distribution and improves credit quality," concluded Sis Apik.
