Malang Economy Rises! Muamalat Institute And Unisma Agree To Build Sharia HR

JAKARTA - One of the business wings of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia, namely the Muamalat Institute, has agreed to build a partnership with the Islamic University of Malang (Unisma) regarding the formation of superior Islamic economic human resources (HR).

Muamalat Institute Executive Director Anton Hendrianto said that his party is targeting Unisma as pilot projects for the Competent Indonesia Muamalat (Miko) program which will later be distributed to campuses throughout Indonesia.

"The revival of the Islamic industry and economy needs to be supported by breakthrough steps through improving the quality of competent human resources," he said in an official statement quoted Monday, February 21.

According to Anton, the Miko program compiled by Muamalat is one of the efforts to increase the growth of the sharia economy and also the Indonesian halal industry in a better direction.

"Indonesia has all the potential to bring the sharia industry and economy to victory. Through synergies with Unisma, which is supported by the largest organization Nahdlatul Ulama, we believe the Miko program will bring many benefits to the campus world and also to the wider community," he said.

On the same occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences Unisma Rini Rahayu Kurniati said the new approach brought by the Muamalat Institute gave its own color in the academic environment.

"We received many directions for students, such as being taught how to push marketing, how students process business administration to be credible, how to be creative, manage risk, and establish customer relationships," he said.

Rini added, these various schemes are added value for students and can increase opportunities to be absorbed directly in the national Islamic finance industry.

"This could be the best way for these children to know about Islamic financial products, how to know the operating system and so on. Hopefully we can guide well, considering that Muamalat is one of the first sharia institutions in Indonesia," said Rini.

Similarly, the Chancellor of Unisma Maskuri expressed his gratitude to the Muamalat Institute as a strategic partner in facilitating students to learn technically how to apply knowledge in the field.

"We have to optimize this synergy together, not just black and white collaboration, but really concrete collaboration, there is a close relationship with a variety of real actions," he asserted.
