JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that the result of economic growth in the fourth quarter was 5.02 percent and year-on-year (yoy) 3.69 percent, driven by the recovery of the industrial and trade sectors.
"Economic growth was largely supported by the industrial and trade sectors which recovered with growth above the national growth of 4.92 percent and 5.56 percent," he said in an official statement quoted on Tuesday, February 8.
According to Airlangga, for the industry's own contribution of 18.8 percent, it is the largest contributor to the structure of gross domestic product (GDP) and contributes 1.01 percent to economic growth.
"In terms of exports, it grew 29.83 percent and imports grew 29.6 percent. This is also the result of the gas and brake policies carried out by the government running harmoniously and effectively," said Airlangga.
Airlangga added that the fiscal stimulus policy for the automotive and property sectors was proven to encourage a multiplier effect in terms of production and consumption.
