JAKARTA - The payment platform and digital financial service OVO has just won a prestigious title from Dailysocial.id.

It was reported that based on the Fintech Report 2021: The Convergence of (Digital) Financial Services survey, it was found that OVO is the most widely used digital payment platform in Indonesia. The data states that 58.9 percent of respondents prefer OVO in their virtual transactions.

In response to this, OVO's Head of Corporate Communication Harumi Supit thanked the Indonesian people for the trust.

"This trust is a great opportunity to realize OVO's mission in supporting the government's efforts to promote financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia," he said in an official statement quoted on Thursday, January 13.

According to Harumi, his party believes that digital payments are a gateway to access a wider financial service ecosystem. In addition, he shares the secret recipe that is the key to the success of OVO as the most dominating digital money in the country.

“OVO's open ecosystem philosophy makes us more open in building collaborations with various parties. This allows us to increase public access to convenient, safe, and affordable financial services, among others through innovation in financial service products such as insurance, investment, and loans," he stressed.

To note, as many as 9 out of 10 new digital service users in Southeast Asia in 2020 will continue to use digital services in 2021.

Then, a release released by the Association of Indonesian Internet Service Providers (APJII) showed the number of internet users in Indonesia in the 2019-second quarter 2020 period rose by around 9 percent to 73.7 percent of the total population, equivalent to 196.7 million people.

Just so you know, Indonesia is now the third largest market among 15 countries with the most financial application installations.

"The highest average use of electronic money is around 2-3 to 4-6 times per month, considering that this instrument is often used for various types of transactions, especially money transfers, top-ups, e-commerce, and investments," concluded Harumi.
