Conglomerate Chairul Tanjung To Invite Strategic Investors To Inject Capital Into Garuda Indonesia: I Hope For Airlines Too

JAKARTA - CT Group through PT Trans Airways plans to inject capital into PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA). Currently, the ownership of the company owned by the conglomerate Chairul Tanjung in Garuda is 28.26 percent.

Chairul Tanjung, who is the Chairman of CT Corp, said that the additional capital will be carried out after the debt restructuring process for Garuda Indonesia is completed.

"When the restructuring process is complete, later we plan to add more capital to strengthen capital. Later in the plan to increase capital, we will also cooperate with strategic investors," said Chairul Tanjung, Tuesday, January 11.

The man who is familiarly called CT said that the debt restructuring process for Garuda Indonesia had not yet been completed because there was a back and forth from the lessor or the company providing leasing services or leasing aircraft.

Some of the lessors have approved the restructuring proposal submitted by Garuda Indonesia, but others have yet to reach an agreement.

"This is still in the process, hopefully in the near future it can be completed," said the number 6 richest person in Indonesia.

The strategic investors to be partnered with will be determined jointly between the government and Trans Airways. However, CT hopes that the strategic partner is also an airline company.
